Yesterday, I wrote this post about what I'm learning as I "become a writer".
That's right.
I'm becoming a writer.
And yesterday's mail reminded me of this.
So, I made a commitment, to myself, to cast votes. Not to stay the same, but to grow.
When a colleague reached out to express how she's been wanting to start something, I began to think, what advice would I appreciate getting as a person "just getting started"?
5 Thoughts:
Start small.
Make it rewarding.
Seek out mentors.
Mark your progress.
Celebrate your success. (Then go back to number one.)
This is not new advice or advice unique to writing. But it is what's working for me.
It's like a flywheel.
As for you, why not start at number one and see what happens from there?
