3 Ways to Add Gratitude in Life (92/365)

"Gratitude is the cure." - Gary Vaynerchuk

The cure…for what?

There are times in life when we lose track of the “little things”.

And we’re surrounded by opportunities to create space to practice being grateful.

Gratitude is one of those gestures that, when practiced regularly, gives us energy.

And it needn’t be big, in fact, the smaller, the better. Gratitude, as GaryVee says, is “the cure”.

It’s the cure for when we fall off-course with our focus. It’s the cure for when our energy is low.

And it’s the cure for when we’re looking for ways to find our purpose.

Three ways to infuse gratitude in your life:

  • Engage in “small talk”.

Remember very specific details about each person you meet, and ask them for updates on these small and important parts of their lives.

  • Get one-on-one.

Sit down for even a few minutes and “check in” with people. Make eye contact. Sit face-to-face or side-by-side. Smile. Focus.

  • Schedule time to send messages or make phone calls “out of the blue”.

Thank people for their involvement in something important, things larger than any one person. Praise people for something viewed as “ordinary” or “routine”. Say “thank you” and use people’s names. Keep it short and sweet. Use simple language. Be genuine and authentic. Be yourself.

Yes, once again, GaryVee is right.

Gratitude is the cure.

It’s the cure for everything that ails us. And it’s the secret weapon, the key to joy.
